True North Equipment announces plans
to build new Resource Center on 42nd Street
True North Equipment, the Grafton based full service John Deere dealership that operates four locations in North Dakota and Minnesota, is pleased to announce plans for the construction of its newest facility, the True North Equipment Resource Center.
“As a continuing part of our ongoing Smart Growth initiatives, we have uncovered the need for a central location to better serve our True North team and our customers,” said John Oncken, True North Equipment Vice President.
The new True North Equipment Resource Center will be a 7,000 square foot, two -story building located on South 42nd Street near the Alerus Center. The approximate construction start date is March 2013 with estimated finalization in late Fall 2013.
The company expects to add an additional 10 to 15 employees within two years. The new True North Equipment Resource Center will focus on providing value added services to customers and employees.
“This new facility focus is that of a 'learning center' with a design dedicated to employee and customer training, meetings, and more,” said Dan Gorder, True North Equipment President.
The new True North Equipment Resource Center will offer:
Additional space and technology for advanced employee training, such as John Deere (IDT) distance learning.
Space and technology for advanced customer training, such as Precision Ag and Equipment optimization for producers and operators alike.
Central office space where our corporate staff can best support the efforts of every True North Equipment dealership location.
Space for Ag related businesses and True North Equipment customers to hold meetings and events
True North Equipment currently has 120 employees throughout their locations in Grafton, Grand Forks, Kennedy, and Northwood. The new True North Equipment Resource Center has been designed for expansion as the company continues its smart growth plan over the years to come.
“Due to our stronger market presence locally and nationally, we reached a level where we needed to be seen as one company in four communities and lead from one cohesive, central place. This new Resource Center helps us do that,” said Gorder.
From its humble beginnings as a small company that sold John Deere plows in Grafton in the late 1800s, True North Equipment has seen many expansions and diversifications over that last century. True North Equipment's dedication and planning has paid off, as now the company is in the top 10% of John Deere dealers worldwide.
“We are excited about the new value added services we can offer our customers and employees with this new facility,” said Oncken. “It is a step in a very progressive direction not only for our company, but for agriculture in our region.”
