At NDSCS, students train through classroom instruction, hands-on labs, and John Deere dealership internships. The program covers diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulics, machine setup, advanced electronics, computer diagnostics, and proprietary John Deere systems. Students gain state-of-the-art, on-campus training combined with supervised work experience at sponsoring dealerships like True North Equipment, learning both foundational skills and the latest John Deere agricultural technologies.
Program & Course Work
The John Deere Tech Program is a 2-Year Associate's Degree that trains skilled, professional service technicians through a curriculum developed by John Deere and NDSCS, covering the latest technology in John Deere agricultural and turf equipment.

What the Program Expects from Students
Students enroll in the John Deere Tech program at the beginning of the summer semester and are accepted upon completion of admission into NDSCS.
To get started, students should:
- Apply for admission to NDSCS through the Enrollment Services office (no faxed applications).
- Submit high school transcripts or GED to Enrollment Services.
- Meet ACT minimum test scores of 15 in Reading and 15 in English.
- Visit NDSCS and complete orientation (testing, academic advising & scheduling, registration).
- Secure approval from the John Deere sponsor, True North Equipment.
